It will be a proud moment for the leader of the Caribbean Soca Ambassadors today as Shomari KRL will graduate from the University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine Campus with a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Leadership and Management.
Shomari was also elated to learn that his final practicum project entitled “Student Engagement and Participation: An analysis of its impact on overall student development at the UWI” passed with a distinction and earned him one of the highest grades for his graduating year. Research on this project spanned a one year period, and comprised of detailed research work in addition to consultations with students across the UWI. As a result, his thesis will be submitted to all three UWI Libraries (Cavehill, Mona and St. Augustine) for reference and will be available for students to read and cite as preliminary research.
Shomari lamented on the Long Journey towards completion. Looking back on his program, he commented that juggling work, project deadlines, a thesis and event commitments was probably one of the greatest challenges of his life. Looking back at 2015/16 especially, he was reminded that he forfeited multiple engagements regionally to make time to engage in research work towards his final practicum. However, with full gratitude to GOD and those that helped him along the way, he is thankful for his success and happy that his sacrifices have paid off.
Shomari who already possess a B.Sc in Public Sector Management and a Minor in psychology will be awarded with his certificate during the 4:00pm graduation ceremony at UWI SPEC.
